Dhanya Prasad
Dhanya's journey with Kuchipudi began at the age of five, soon after her family moved from the United States to India. Wanting to build a meaningful connection with her Indian roots and Telugu heritage, she and her sister were introduced to Kuchipudi at Natya Tarangini under the guidance of Guru Yamini Reddy. What began as a way to embrace her culture soon became a lifelong passion.
From a young age, Dhanya has always found joy in movement and physical expression. She quickly discovered that Kuchipudi was her true calling. The stamina, discipline, balance, artistry, and expressive storytelling of Kuchipudi have enriched her life, giving her the confidence to push her boundaries in dance and artistic expression.
For the past thirteen years, Kuchipudi has been a constant in her life. Through every joy, challenge, and injury, it has taught her resilience, humility, and gratitude. Under the loving guidance of Guru Yamini Reddy and Padma Bhushan Drs. Raja and Radha Reddy, she has been blessed to grow not only as a dancer, but also as an individual.
This Rangapravesham marks the culmination of years of dedicated learning and is offered with heartfelt gratitude to her Gurus, parents, elder sister, and everyone who has supported her journey. As she prepares to begin a new chapter at university, she holds with her the values, memories, and love for Kuchipudi that will remain with her always.
